Hudds really have been cack this season relative to the money they've spent, when they've not had us rollover for them
Regardless of how rubbish Huddersfield are, or anyone else, I can't believe anyone still thinks we've any chance of top 6, based purely on how absolutely dogger we are.
Look at it another way. For us to finish in the top 6, from the last 8 games of the season, we need to get 8 more points than Huddersfield (plus 18 better goal difference), 7 more than Bolton (6 better goal difference), 6 more than Orient and Reading (18 and 8 better goal difference respectively) and 1 more than Blackpool (9 better goal difference). That's without considering Lincoln who are 3 behind us with a 10 better goal difference. From this point, 8 wins might not even be enough, given it's taken us 19 games to garner our last 24 points. And that's coming from me, a happy clapping woke lefty liberal, who doesn't believe that everything the club does is an attempt to sabotage the town of Barnsley.
The maximum number of points we can get is 77, if we win every game, and in many seasons, that still wouldnt be enough. And we still have to go to Birmingham, so make that 74. There is such a gap from 5th to 6th that really, only 6th is even up for grabs, but 6th already has 61 points and it's very hard to see none those teams around there putting 12 points on in the last 8 games. One more defeat and it's all but mathematically impossible for me.
I didn’t say we had a good chance of getting sixth spot. Only that it’s not impossible. Until it’s mathematically beyond us I’ll keep hoping. Maybe this or next weekend will destroy that hope but until then….
When they beat Crawley before the international break (like most teams do) Jon Worthington was God and it was all MLHs fault. Second game in charge and clearly it isn't.
What's a step up from optimistic wildly optimistic maybe. Just shows chucking silly money in January isn't always the answer.
Ok, I concede. 6th is a step too far this season. However, I enjoyed what I saw today despite some iFollow problems.
That was a bizarre transfer. He was a bloody good centre back at championship level never mind league one level
Can only think they thought selling Helik was a good idea to fund the transfers of Taylor and Charles, it's unbalanced them and they are conceeding for fun.
