Method one: Write on your official website, in your official programme or go on the local radio station who ASKED you to go on. Message sent direct to ALL customers. Method two: Handpick a few customers to come and listen to what you say and then via a fun game of Chinese whispers take that back and pass it on to their friends to tell their friends to tell their friends. Benefit of method one: ALL your customers find out exactly what you want them to. Benefit of method two: those handpicked customers feel valued which subconsciously alters their take on what you say. When the message is passed on it is invariably not 100% what you say and hopefully will have a more positive slant on it. Benefit two of method two: If any of those at the end of the chain of Chinese whispers take issue with what they are told you can claim that it has been lost in translation and isn't what you originally said. A stroke of genius
Don't disagree with method one. But isn't method two something that's baked in to 'Football League Law' and all clubs have to run engagement forums at least twice a year or by certain dates? Not sure if I'm completely wrong on that front.
But SuperTyke’s point is still a valid one. The lack of communication has been pathetic. The fans deserve more respect.
I agree in principle but there are always going to be issues for which official publication makes little sense. The website would be a constant stream of information, and though I’d like it and would no doubt pore over all of it, it would be unnecessary. It’s not in doubt that the club have made mistakes in the way it communicated DS’s sacking. However what you’re suggesting is that those present last night are now privy to more details about it than the rest of us. From what I’ve seen so far that’s not the case. It may be that more details emerge when we see a proper report of what was said but it appears to me that Dane has simply rehashed the follow up statement that was posted to social media. Correct me if I’m wrong on that.
I bet the hit count on the club's website has seen a steady decline over the years. Personally only go on it for the half time draw numbers if I've missed it
