Wimbledon 0-3 down with 10 Minutes to go and win 4-3 Dare say I would be in pub Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't go to as many matches as others, but I've never left early. Not even during the darkest days of Keith Hill's reign.
I'd never leave early - I'm far too tight for that If I've paid £20 odd quid or whatever for 90mins of football I'm going to watch all 90mins god damn it.
I was there earlier in the Wimbledon end. Amazing game and amazing fans, got behind the players all match and not one of them had left. If it wasn't such a long journey though that might have been different, I always stay regardless of the score if I've travelled a long way to get there
It was one of those games though that you felt, if Wimbledon could score 1, they'd go on to score 2 or 3 more. I certainly didn't see them turning it around in such a quick fashion though. It was a great game. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Funnily enough I drove over to Ikea Manchester today and straight past Curzon Ashton's ground. Spotted a couple of AFC Wimbledon car stickers, thought it was a bit strange but didn't put two and two together. Switched radio on on the way back over to Barnsley and heard about this game. Wish I'd have popped in now. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
They're at least well on course to finish above them for the first time ever. They really are 2 clubs going in opposite directions. And I find it f*cking hilarious. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Id still have been there - once when I was a nipper in the 70's my much older cousin took me to Elland road to see the then mighty Leeds when they had the side with Clarke Hunter Bremner etc. - I was already hooked on Barnsley but it was a chance to see a first division club and we were away so I went with him. With 5 minutes to go Leeds were 2-0 down so cousin says lets go and miss the traffic. We were half way down the stairs when a roar went up as we missed the first and just outside the ground when they equalised. - Fortunately it was only Leeds and though I was a bit miffed it didn't really bother me but from that game onward I have always stayed to the end. Ive seen us come back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 - only once but you always never know when it may happen again - I've also seen us throw a 3 goal lead in the last 10 minutes and just hang on for a point. I never understand at all those who leave a few minutes early when a game really is in the balance
This seems relevant - my favourite phone-in call ever.
I have never left a match early, and I just can't understand anyone who does. I'm not sure how many games I've been to, but it must be getting on for 2,000 now; it just goes against the grain with me to leave before the end.
Never left before the final whistle even when losing heavily, (5-0 at home against Newcastle once and last friday vs Forest for example). When the team plays well even though they get beat (the Forest game being a prime example) the supporters should still show their appreciation at the final whistle in my opinion.
Even stopped to the end when we lost 6-0 at home to Charlton during our great escape under Flitcroft. Barnsley66 did point out, though, that I couldn't have left early even if I wanted to. We'd gone in his car, parked in the club car park, so wouldn't have been able to get out!
Hahah - what a plonker - even if you leave early surely you check the final score on your phone before calling in to a phone in.
So did I - must admit I didnt hang around to applaud the team once the final whistle put us out of our misery though
