Crikey. I probably was but can't say for sure. Would have been 9 at the time. Quality keeping from Roy there! Lol, in fact if we let goals in like that these days this place would self destruct within hours!
Fantastic quality footage for 1969. Would love to see the whole match again. Wonder how we managed to get the BBC down to Oakwell for a Third Division game?
Its title is: Barnsley FC - Tranmere rovers 2-2 1969-03-29 Division three Uploaded by: moregoalstv Published 8 Feb this year
Yup. It was actually on YTV on the Sunday afternoon. This was in the pre Keith Macklin days. The programme was actually introduced by Danny Blanchflower. After the match, our goalie Roy Ironside was interviewed about his performance. I can't remember his exact words, but they were something like "All top goalkeepers make errors". That was from my first season of watching Barnsley.

I only saw him at the end of his career, mate. Before that season had ended, he was replaced by a much better 'keeper (in my opinion) in Brian Arblaster.
Blimey what memories that brings back! Tinribs was a steady, unspectacular but usually reliable keeper who spent several years with Rotherham (mostly at what is now Championship level IIRC) before coming to Tarn. I dont recall him making many mistakes and it was his misfortune that YTV happened to be at the Well that day! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Quick Google shows he made 220 appearances for Rovrum and 113 for Tarn in a 13 year career. And he's still with us aged 81 bless him. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Also I love watching the crowd reactions in bygone ages. Look at how people celebrate the goal, waving scarves above their head with both hands
