According to that he set up Sam Winnall to score the third goal in the Wembley victory over Millwall. Er….no he didn’t. That was Lloyd Isgrove
If it was possible to rise even higher in my estimations... “When the move came about, you are looking at what might give you the best chance to do that, and it doesn’t take long to understand how big a club Aston Villa is. "You walk in there and the European Cup is in the trophy cabinet, so that is the level of club you are going to with all the history and expectation that comes with it. “It is just a massive club and it was a chance I could not turn down. Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday were in for me, I didn’t want to join Wednesday as I felt that would have been a kick in the teeth to Barnsley, but I felt settled living further north"
"Hourihane set up Sam Winnall for the third goal as he skippered them to a 3-1 win over Millwall" ????
Aside from a couple of inaccuracies a fabulous article. Special lad Conor, special. And if he doesn’t make the final, I reckon he’ll be cheering us on to succeed.
I want him to get seven shades kicked out of him on Monday. And in the second leg. But he is wonderful. He's as good as I've ever seen - bar Redfearn - and he clearly still loves us. What a guy. I hope our players boot him all over the shop, and then our fans applaud him off at the end, bruised and defeated.
Good piece. Loved the lad when he was here and still got a soft spot for him. Just glad he's way past his best and the game will pass him by on Monday.
