That said our security services are so thin on the ground we are leaving ourselves open to attack. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45739040 National disgrace.
Everything is stretched too thin mate. Yesterday my mam had a fall in the garden, hurt her shoulder and I couldn't move her. I wrapped her up and phoned for an ambulance which took over 2 hrs. For 2 hrs she was sat on the floor outside at 78 years of age. Thankfully it wasn't too cold or raining. Phoned the hospital this morning and the doctor still hadn't been to assess her injury. Some brilliant people working for the emergency services and NHS, but everything is just made so difficult for them.
Nhs is being run ***** by government. Docs and nurses under so much strain. I had kidney stone recent. Sat from 3pm til 6am next morming before a bed became available. I was in so much pain. They just sorry simply no beds.
Sorry to hear this. My nephew (13) had his open heart surgery postponed twice due to lack of beds. A massive operation for a young kid (I know as I had it done at 7 years old & I'm massively grateful to the NHS).
Perhaps I haven't seen everything but my understanding is that armed Officers were there, but a bizarre (on the face of it) decision was made to station them 50 yards away from the gates.
Surely if you have armed officers, you put them on the gates. Show of strength (to quote Paul Weller).
NHS also needs to have a good look at itself, there are some fantastic people working on the front line and they are under significant pressure, but perhaps instead of awarding CEO’ s of trusts 6 figure sums with huge add ons (and some have just awarded themselves a 35k pay rise), they should look at diverting some of the cash to the front line.
I disagree... police officers don't want to be armed and it's making no difference in places such as USA. All that will happen is more criminals will procure more guns.
