player coach or player manager, ideally centre mid or defensive mid, whatever you want to call it.

Can't see it happening, but would be a chance to kill two birds with one stone.

    I’m looking ........... FOR OWT !!!

Even some sort of announcement would be nice.
And even if it’s to say that they are still looking.

    Still no white smoke.

As the club are looking to make an appointment, and have not as yet,why would they need to make a statement stating the foooooooking obvious?

That would be to appease the chronically impatient people who think it’s their right to be briefed daily on things that have nothing to do with them

The club have a big decision to make in making the right appointment hence the time taken so far.

I suppose some folk can't accept that.

    Not daily.
But you would think Ganaye would say something on maybe a weekly basis.
    In a Ben Mansford way.
    But there’s nowt at all.

I’m not saying the club should rush to sign a manager - but I think the club should ensure that they have the supporters on board.
It’s a matter of being courteous.
It’s nothing to do with patience.

    Could be a cultural thing.
    As in queuing.

Just out of interest, and it's not particularly aimed at you because it's a belief held by many, but why are you of the opinion that the goings on at football club that represents both the town and the people who live there, a club that sells itself as a community club, have nothing to do with the fans of that town who support the club with their time and money?

And why is having an interest in something that the majority of us have supported and held close to heart for most of our lives frowned upon in such a way?

    I genuinely don't get it.

Why would you want an update to say 'we are still looking for a head coach'? It is obvious if you have 1/8th of a brain.
The alternative of 'we aren't looking for a head coach, lets make do without one' would be worthy of press release granted.
They aren't going to leak names, you don't need to know.
Do you want me to give you a daily PM update to reassure you that we are still a football club and as such will need to appoint a head coach at some point? I will

Perhaps I should have worded it better.

The appointment of club officials really has got nothing to do with the supporters, in the same way that managerial appointments in any company have nothing to do with employees, or customers, of that company. Obviously we can get excited, or deflated, on hearing news of our new head coach/manager or whatever, but I just find it tedious hearing the same people constantly demanding information. It will happen when it happens. It might even be happening today, or tomorrow.

I am one of the many who have, as you say above, "supported and held close to my heart for most of our lives" this football club and I have made sure that everyone that I have ever met knows it! I've said it often enough on here over the years that I have had contact with people worldwide through a long period of military service and have always been proud of my Barnsley roots, even though I have barely lived in the town since 1970. When strangers are used to hearing the top clubs mentioned when they ask "who do you support?" it has usually interested them when I have said "my home town, of course - Barnsley".

I'm not frowning on people who keep on, and on about "what's happening?" I just don't get this constant need to be told every day, even when NOTHING is happening. As I said, it will happen when it happens. I hope we're all happy with the outcome but, of course, we won't be, will we?
