It truly is an awful burden to carry. It's not easy to talk, even now. And it's even harder to ask for help 35 years later. I saw supertykes post and was sickened. Time maybe will heal, maybe not.
Having watched a clip of the 6 players on tv and seeing how it still affects them, it makes me think of Garry Speed and others that suffer from depression in the game and if they carried this same terrible burden throughout their lives, such a shocking thing to deal with.

It get worse Turns out apparently Crewe were aware of reports as far back as the 80's but decided there wasn't enough evidence, so he carried on working with the clubs kids and went on to work with others. Surely it wasn't their decision to make they should have reported it to the police
