Been thinking this for a while. I appreciate its noones business really who does what and respect PS for coming out if that was his decision and wasn't 'outed' or pressured as such...... But in this cynical time in football where cash rules. Agents and players dictate. TV is king. Image rights, signing on fees, player endorsements, advertising, shirt sales, merchandise etc etc. Surely the first 'high profile' player to come out will surely cause an avalanche. In todays society I don't feel anyone's bothered that PS is gay. He's firstly a brilliant TV presenter, a funny guy and seems a top lad. Who cares if he likes blowks???? The first footballer to leave the closet will be a hero, there'll be an explosion of the aforementioned endorsements, worldwide shirt sales, adverts, etc etc. The footballer always says 'it's a short career' etc. I'd admire the first one and hope that it paves the way for others. Not that I'm bothered misen but I wish I was on 1 percent of the coin the 'outing' would create.
Football is full of gays FFS, let's not beat about the bush. Most of those that still have a full head of hair at 23 for starters... Obviously a hormone thing going on. Those that have hair a poncey cry babies. Football is a predominantly gay sport. Fact. Real men play darts and rugby. Discuss.
