The crowd will be relentless tonight, as will all the home supporters this week. It'll be very difficult for any away side to deal with that and not having any of their own supporters there. Going from playing in empty stadiums to one even a quarter full of people roaring on the opposition will be very tough. Any home side that scores early will find it really easy to get the momentum going and carry it through. The other side of this of course is any away side which makes it through the first leg relatively unscathed stands a great chance in the home game. But I think in general the home sides will do very well this week.
I don’t think it is. I think the clubs will be clever enough to make the point about being massively outnumbered to the ref therefore I predict one of the worst ref performances since the last one that was really crap.
One of the tactics by away teams is to quieten the crowd and try to get them on the teams case with spoiling tactics , Hopefully our crowd tonight don’t let this happen and cheer thick and thin .
Has anyone wondered how many of our young players will react to a crowd? After all, they’ve been amazing all season without one. I hope they’re not like rabbits in headlamps...
yeah - hopefully an early goal will settle us down. Maybe try this from the kick off with a Dike rocket blaster!
To be fair though mate, if you tipped up at the pub and there was free beer being dished out by Taylor Swift and Beyonce you'd still find some downside to the situation somewhere (nothing personal, based purely on your previous posts I've read ).
Told you home advantage would make no difference with the ref. Sadly I’m sure whoever ends up with the game on Sat will now favour Swansea more than the one did us last night. Must be very frustrating being Dike getting wrestled all over the place and watching the other team getting free kicks for next to nothing in comparison must be like living with someone with a split personality!
I think the worst part for me is the physical assault that goes on when we have a corner. It doesn't seem to matter what team, but the amount of pulling and holding seems far worse than other seasons. Maybe because we are actually a threat now and we have so much physicality that teams feel they have to do it to neutralise any advantage we might have. There was one corner we had and there were 3 fouls all happening at the same time of players held, arms wrapped round them. Yet penalties aren't seemingly given for such things.
Yeah I know the one you mean. 2 players looked like they where trying to get out of a headlock wrestling move!
