He wanted to go to Sunderland and he had talks with both Forest and Norwich in the past.
I want someone at the club who isn't applying for every job going.

After all that happened and then agreed terms with Leeds a few days after signing the contract. This contract means **** all.

Oh and I wonder who put the 'get out clause' in it? Hmmmmmmm

Not really. If I wanted to leave my job and was actively looking for alternative companies to work for but in the meantime my employer said here you go, have a pay rise, I am not sure my answer would be "nah, you're alright, I am intending to **** off first chance I get". You take the rise and keep looking.

    Applying or being approached?
Maybe he has talked to other clubs if they've dangled a carrot... who wouldn't discuss a potentially lucrative career move? Perhaps then he decided neither of those clubs were the right move?
Then ones comes up on his doorstep, no need to relocate, huge pay rise (we assume).
Combine that with new owners and poor results.
    Only one conclusion.
Jump from the fire into the frying pan.

I think the forest job would have suited him better.

So you sign a contract that makes it harder for you to leave ?

It appears he signed a contract that makes it easier for him to leave if its true it has a get out clause in it

That's the thing, it didn't make him harder to leave. It increased his wage but yet there's a get out clause. There wasn't one in the previous contract.

    rumour mill or fact .?
If I’d wanted to leave and my agent was telling me other places were interested I’d be signing no contract ,
Players refuse to sign contract when they’re not happy why is it ppposite for coaches?

I don't suppose he knew when he signed the contract that he'd be approached for another job so soon. If he does go in these circumstances I can't believe that at the end of his career he will be able to look back at this with a sense of pride, so I hope for his sake that it is worth it.

Have a look at my comments regarding Potts and Lindsay last summer and then MacDonald last week and ask yourself do I know what I'm on about regarding Barnsley Football Club.

You would certainly sign one that gives you more compensation if you were to be sacked.

As I've said - by all accounts he got himself a new agent very recently. Getting less impressed the more I hear, but truth will out so we'll see.
