In fact all around we were terrible. It started with the starting line up, Watkins out wide with Winnall and Armstrong up top, both players needing a link up player, but the only player of the sort was out wide, and ineffective. Brighton were good though, clearly hitting some good form after having an average start. Knockeart was a menace, but our lads were powderpuff when dealing with him. The relegation battle starts here as far as I'm concerned, and it's important we get our next points on the board asap, we don't want to be getting stuck in a rut after our great start. Massive game Tuesday night, lets make it intimidating for Villa from a supporters point of view! Sent from my iPhone
It may be that the 4-4-2 is just too predictable now and therefore easier for opposition managers to set up against
It didn't look to predictable when Kent came on..... The players were wrong today and it took to long to change it...
You can say that about any formation really. The last thing we need to be doing is panicking and changing formation and trying stop teams as opposed to playing our own game. That's why our last stint in the championship was depressing. Sent from my iPhone
Yeah but your arguement would hold more sway if you were there. Listening on the radio isn't the same.
Not for me. 4-4-2 is as good as any other formation if you have the right players in the right positions. Watkins should be up front and Kent or Janko should be on the wing
It started on the opening day of the season for me. Nothings changed. 15 points from 9 games is good return, especially when 2 of them games were away at 2nd and 3rd in the league. No reason to panic, the club has a plan in place. We're going to lose games - especially away from home. Its inevitable. 9 points clear of the drop after 9 games - roll on Tuesday, we go again.
Are you sure you're stalking the right account? Because I certainly wasn't on twitter for most of the game. Sent from my iPhone
The last thing we need to do is panic. Correct Not sure how that tallies with relegation fight claims like!
It sounded in commentary like we just had nothing when it came to getting 25 yards from goal, would be interested to know from someone who went whether that was due to our poor decision making or them just being good in defence?
Both of our strikers just weren't linking up with midfield very well, our wingers were ineffective. Sent from my iPhone
From what I've seen of Watkins he isn't a winger, unless it's in one of those formations where the winger is effectively a third striker
Sounds the same as Reading then. Need to get Watkins or Bradshaw up front Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
