So does that mean that the ref and linesman are absolved of responsibility to use their eyes? I thought the technology was for marginal decisions not the be all and end all. It could be the end of the road for linesmen, if they don’t have to see the ball is over the line, and offside decisions are checked by VAR, why have them at all?
Marginal errors think you referring to VAR Hawk eye is either over line or not. A linesman is instructed not to flag in these circumstances and wait for referee to get confirmation on his watch
And did the TV show the overhead shot of t Thanks for that. So technology alone. Can’t get over that. So if the ball hits the back of the net and bounces out but there’s no vibration it’s not a goal.
Ref and linesman have only one look at it, and where they have been used to relying on the technology for those decisions. And might even doubt if they could overrule the gadget. They can't be blamed. Unless the ref hadn't turned on his goal line bleeper....
Agreed. For all we know the linesman could have been sure it went in but you can’t really overrule hawkeye.
Their statement is a complete lie though. Aston villa Hawkeye camera positions Still showing the exact angle that an Hawkeye camera sees.
Hawkeye didn't see it Ref didn't see it Linesman didn't see it 3 VAR officials didn't see it Millions of people at home saw it without needing a second look
Does anybody think if it had been the other way round Wilder would have told them to let in a "soft" goal? Football integrity ehh.
This picture is even better - couldnt have happened to a nicer team I seem to remember the Blunts were already the side suffering most for VAR overturning goals would have been even better if it had been Man United
I think that's four cameras now from sky which show it perfectly. Hawkeye are still claiming that all 7 of their cameras pointing at the goal line were obstructed.
