Why dont we get in the refs face and tell him to get players booked everybody apart from us does it!!!!
completely agree fella... it shows a cheating streak in the players and teams that do this. I wish that FIFA would take a look at Rugby union. when an offence occurs the referee talks to the two captains and the offenders only.... the rest of the team go away and look on. This gives the Rugby Refs respect and protection.... its high time Football followed suit... also the Rugby refs are always addressed as 'Sir' in all matches and not abused as they are in football. FIFA could learn a lot from Rugby.... will they... no Thowt not.
Me too by the wayI thought the ref was much better than usual tonight. Didn’t agree with all his decisions but he got most right and didn’t seem to favour either side as there were a few marginal ones given both ways
He gave them a few as well. Be interesting to see how Sunderland fans viewed him. I didn’t see too many either way though
Totally agree hate to see it myself but its a part of our game that I feel other teams use to their advantage whereas we just seem to let everything go. What have we to lose theres no sportsman of the season award at the end is there My original post isnt me saying the ref got things wrong tonight as I thought he was one of the better ones we’ve had
All people are different. If a bunch of players were badgering me, I wouldn't be influenced by them. I'd be far more likely to give decisions the other way to piss them off. I thought we got more than our fair share of decisions tonight. That may (or may not, I can't prove it) be down to the way we interact with referees. We don't hassle them. I think that will be appreciated by many referees and the 50/50 decisions may go our way. I think they have a lot this season. What have we got to lose? Decisions going our way. There's more than one way to skin a cat. The one that appears obvious isn't always the most effective.
