Yes happy St David’s day to my Celtic friends. I have no Welsh DNA in me but I do have a percentage of Irish. Fortunately any English DNA in me is as common as hens teeth.
Your English DNA is the bit that allows you to type messages on a modern internet forum in this technical world we live in with relative ease.
The Welsh Dragon - Y Ddraig Goch (always facing to the left) was only adopted as the flag of Cymru in 1959. Happy St David's Day - Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant - to everyone either born in or who have links to the country to the West of Offa's Dyke. Thriving Welsh community in Carlton 1940-70 - Welsh Chapel etc. Many descendants of those Taffs still in Barnsley - And a happy St David's Day to those who (sadly) haven't a drop of Welsh blood in their veins. YMA O HYD ! - WE ARE STILL HERE ! - (despite what the English tried to do to us !)
I was just reading the BBC news on line and Sheffield City Council acknowledged St David’s day by flying the Scottish Saltire. Astounding show of ignorance here.
As a matter of interest, what's your connection with Barnsley? Are you a Welsh man who now lives in Barnsley or do you live in Wales but have an affinity with Barnsley?
