When it was announced JG was leaving it would have been great for Yorkshire to win at least something. It turns out that in JG's final year we win nothing. Now this was down to recruitment 9 month ago in my opinion. They, it's a team at Yorkshire and they got it wrong. Now for me, it was clear then and today Yorkshire finished 3rd. The only year we finished lower than that was when YCCC gor promoted from Div 2 I beleive. Let's look positively. The next man in won't have the expectations that they could have. They have a team that can be now changed, can be now moulded into what the new managment team want. Let's hope they can continue to improve YCCC in all formats. Let's hope the new guy can lead Yorkshire to limited over success. It would be massive for the club to have a big T/20 comp in that comps last year with the current format. I really hope they can go big with the recruitment. I hope they can bring in some big names from domestic cricket but also a big overseas. They have a decent bowling attack but it's an ageing attack. I really hope shaw, Fisher and Rhodes can get into the team and make an impact. Settled team, would be massive for me too. I really hope they get a plan with the ECB over all players. How much will they have Rashid. Plan with Bairstow and Root. Now I expect them to say Root will not play for Yorkshire once the internationals start. I get annoyed when people say he doesn't care. On twitter it annoys me but that's another thing. Now Crickets always second to Football for me but I hope to get to a early season cricket game next season and be really excited again but I can't say I was at any stage and maybe that's the reason I haven't been to Headingley too much this season.
All credit to the players and coaching staff to have taken it to the last day for me. They've arguably had to manage without half a first 11 regularly because of England commitments, so it's quite an achievement to have been as competitive as they have been, and a good indicator of squad strength for county cricket.

Pray do tell what wisdom you posess to say they are better than the current lot For christs sake we've won the 2 previous championships, we were crap at one day cricket so we signed David Willey!! It's not football, don't expect 7 new players every year FFS!!
really think they need a 2/3 batters in. They are opinions with the ball. Fisher's a real talent from what they say. Been out almost all season which isn't great.

I was at Lords yesterday and I still feel bad about that farce of a deal that led to cheap runs and cheap wickets. Such deals should be banned. Yorkshire never adequately covered the loss of Joe Root and they have a captain who is no longer worthy of his place as a batsman. Too many passengers in the top order. This takes nothing away from the past two seasons in which Yorkshire were dominant and won matches in 3 days. Three in a row was just a bridge too far and it's remarkable with our deficiencies we took it to the last day. The bowling attack is adequate on a decent wicket, but we need to continue to blood youngsters. We are still the county side that everyone wants to beat and we will be stronger next year if we recruit some batsmen.
