Showed a graph that shows mobile phone 'overuse' which they described as constantly checking your phone and using it at night. The graph was by age. They then overlaid a graph showing stress levels by age and found there were pretty much a perfect match. Their conclusion was that quite clearly using phones too much causes stress. But why is that the obvious conclusion? Isn't it also entirely plausible that it's the opposite way round and people suffering from high stress are more likely to keep checking their phones as their stress means they're unable to switch their brain off? Using my smartphone doesn't cause me stress really but if I am stressed I find I use it more to take my mind off things.
I haven't had a mobile phone for years. Which probably means I'll fail any and every intelligence test.
Was out walking the week before last and chanced upon a group of 20-somethings ignoring social distancing and all of them were staring at their phones.
