Just in case anyone is interested (and I know village cricket isn't everyone's cup of tea), there's a game currently taking place at Stainborough which is building up to an exciting finish. There's ball by ball commentary on the internet here http://www.stainboroughcc.co.uk/liv... XI v Upper Haugh CC Sunday XI 13-08-2017.xml I wonder how many village clubs broadcast their games live on the internet?
We've got Matt Le Tissier and Barnsley's own Dave Cooper at our Sporting Dinner, Shaw Lane, 13th October. Should be a laugh as the real Matt Le Tissier doesn't know that Dave Cooper does top quality impressions of him!
i could sit and watch it Stahlrost, dont mind grass roots cricket at all, played plenty of it when i was younger..great afternoon out,a few pints, bit of sun, nowt wrong with it mukka
We're having a fun day Bank Holiday Sunday 27th, bar open, game on (v Sprotbrough), bouncy castle and slide for kids, barbecue, live music (Simon Whiteley) in the pavilion later. Just hope the weather turns up.
Gobsmacked at that, great example of why you should never give up in sport no matter how hopeless the situation is. We eventually won by 4 runs, they needed 13 from the last over but managed just 8 in a great game.
I bet Mihai Cucos wasnt very popular with his team mates 2 no balls in that final over - without those the victory was almost certain. Unforgivable even in village cricket that
