I've tried a few asymmetrical formations and they usually seem to work for a while and then tail off, or I get stuffed every game.

It is so realistic, I couldn't cope playing it. It was like a real job with the effort required.

I tend to use a 3-5-2 formation which got us promoted what you using in prem

Not necessarily with Barnsley but I tend to play a similar formation to OP but instead of where Styles is I put a DM between the CBs and CMs then set the team mentality to attacking. I also have the FBs operating as wing backs.

I know Callum Brittain has got a good engine and can run all day, but he's got to do a lot of work on that RHS in that system lol :)

If you had to play the 4-2-3-1 formation who would be in your starting 11?

I'm not sure my formation would suit our squad as it needs wingers. I'd adapt it slightly and go:

    Collins

    Styles LWB
    Helik CB
    Andersen CB
    Brittain RWB

Sibbick DM (do we have a natural DM like Dougall these days??)

    Kane CM
    Palmer CM

    Morris
    Woodrow
    Frieser
