Good press conference but I wish certain statements were more precise

Going to enhance the academy- Does this mean they plan for it to go from Category B to Category A or perhaps look further up the pyramid at more reputable academies when poaching talent (for example J.Brown was bought in from Guiesley)

Supplement the squad this January- With much needed experience? Areas they want to strengthen? Still no clue what they plan for this window as I'm not sure on what they consider "doing anything crazy"

"Internationalising the club"- No idea what they mean here. Only thing I can think of is more overseas staff & players.

Impressed with what I heard but in some ways I feel like I have more questions after the interviews

I took the Internationalising the club to mean we are going to promote Barnsley, (probably to China and India) through media, the lady in the team seems to be media focussed so perhaps they are going to stream matches, that would also enhance the resources they mentioned

Thats the impression I got, that they plan to "market the brand" in places like China, India and the USA. Their collective fields of expertise are perfectly suited to this. Itll take some effort selling a "team like Barnsley" but they wouldnt be here if they didnt think they could do it. And if they do the potential benefits are enormous. I believe this will be one of the main planks of their strategy to grow the revenue, and through it the club. Exciting times!

My thoughts exactly. By all accounts Barnsley is already well known in China through the JHT link and I know that Barnsley College/UCB has done a great deal to extend their reach to China in recent years so I don’t think Barnsley is as harder sell as other teams in our division who have little or no links abroad. As I’ve said previously, I’m quietly optimistic.

I thought it might mean plugging in and promoting I follow. More or less a ready made platform they can advertise the arse off in China and India.

Not sure how much we get out of it like with extra fivers for odd games and subscriptions. But that's where I think they would start

So we can expect to see millions of poor little third world kids proudly wearing Barnsley shirts. Should be quite amusing !!
