Well what an unexpected day #TeamLouieGeorge had yesterday ❤ it all began a couple of days ago when I saw a twitter post from Barnsley Football Club and retweeted it saying that Louie would love what they were offering...to be driven to the match by Cauley Woodrow in an electric powered Kia ev6 courtesy of Burrows Kia, thought it sounded great for Louie as we all know he has a love for cars, food and football. Over the next couple of days I was told many lies...not bad lies though, just unbeknown to me I was to receive the prize, even the guys at the club were in on it, they asked us on Friday afternoon if we'd be a part of their interviews at the match the following morning which wasn't entirely the truth, that's what I thought I was getting ready for until Cauley Woodrow showed up at our house! I answered the door and my jaw hit the floor...I couldn't even process what was happening and then Cauley asked if I wanted a lift...I can't even remember what I said if I'm honest, I shouted Jake who was equally as surprised and Louie came to say hi too. I then realised everyone was in on it and it was all a set up, all of the things that had been happening and I'd been questioning suddenly made perfect sense it became apparent that Cauley had come to collect me not the boys, so off we drove to the match followed by Tom & the boys in the car. We were seated in the executive box upon arrival and then Louie was asked to be mascot...another lovely surprise, me and Jake stayed in the box while dad & uncle Tom took Louie down to the tunnel...he was carried on by the skipper himself Mads Anderson who I've got to say did a fab job holding a planking Louie across the pitch screaming true Louie style I tell ya! He's not the easiest to handle in this state but it didn't phase Mads! Louie got to give the match ball a lucky rub and I definitely think it did the trick. At half time we were 1-0 up but unlucky for us it ended in a equaliser on the 86th minute. We'll take that though from Fulham FC Official as they are top of the league. All in all we had a fab day, saw lots of lovely people, boys loved it and want to do it all again. I've forgiven everyone in on it as it was a lovely surprise for me which I found out in the end that my cousin Tom had nominated me for and after a truly hard and tough week for me made me smile Thanks to Barnsley Football Club for the hospitality - all the staff were amazing, Burrows Kia for the car, Cauley Woodrow for being a legend and driving me there & Mads Anderson for coping with a planking Louie. It was a perfect day ❤ #BarnsleyFC #YouReds #TeamLouieGeorge #FootballFamily
I was choked up watching Mads with the mascot. I had no idea but he was great with the mascot. 2000 likes if I could.
Absolutely brilliant I must admit a tear came to my eye when I saw Mads carrying the lad out Glad you had a great day
We've a nice video on the way tomorrow hopefully. Jodie, Tom, Jake and little Louie George are an awesome family who somehow manage to fight through adversity. I genuinely can't begin to explain how they manage to stay so positive in the face of such challenges. They deserve so much support. Cauley - as ever - was an absolute gent. And Mads was proud to walk out with little Louie. Lovely day. Please support the family if you can. bit.ly/HelpTeamLouieGeorge
Just watched the video. Must be a bit dusty in my office today. Well done Barnsley FC, Burrows, Cauley and Mads.
Total class this. Respect to BFC, Burrows and to Cauley & Mads & all behind the scenes that made it happen.
Just had the same experience today v Reading, absolutely gobsmacked to answer the door to Bobby Hassell this morning, driven to the ground and looked after by the club and introduced to so many legends on an absolutely unforgettable day, can't thank the club enough for the way we've been looked after today, and also to my son for nominating me. Thank you Barnsley FC.
