    Not been good for a long time. They are a spent force. It can't help the national team that their domestic league is one of the most uncompetitive in the world. When our teams sign their star players like Chelsea with Werner, they flop here and don't stay long.

    Rudiger did alright. Gundogan well any of us would do OK playing for the best team in the country, but he's not won a Champions League. Sane was OK but never established himself over here.

    Rudiger did alright?! He was fantastic for the last couple of years at Chelsea. Chelseas strikers have failed a lot over the years, not just Werner. Kezman, Torres, Shevchenko, Lukaku, Higuain, Falcao and on and on. Has nothing to do with coming from German leagues

    I definitely agree with OP about Germany being poor, a lot of people don't rate them. But I just think people underestimate Japan too, a lot of their players play in top 5 leagues in Europe, and they're getting better and better. Very good team and I hope they qualify!!

    Chelsea just go through the sticker album when signing players. They got as far as Germany with Werner, Rudiger and Havertz.
