Not wishing to tempt fate, but honestly, this has to be the poorest German side ever
to play in a World Cup surely. No invention, no pace. If they end up qualifying, they will
be extremely fortunate. It will be down to Mexicos poor performance against Sweden if
    they do.

Must be better than the 2002 squad. Who miraculously got to the final.

Player wise they’ve got a lot of good players, I think they were favourites weren’t they?

I’d have all of Neuer, Hummels, Sule, Kimmich, Kroos, Muller & Ozil in the England side & plenty others Reus, Werner, Brandt aren’t exactly poor players.

Just not gelled as a team.

That’s the 3rd time in a row the previous winners have gone out in the group stage, must be some sort of complacency involved

And would have been easy meat in the next round. Sweden and Mexico both more capable than what Germany would have been. Germany would have devalued the competition

They were poor weren't they? South Korea were so inept going forward though. Break after break in the second half and couldn't capitalise. It looked nailed on for Germany squeaking out of jail again.
