Linked with the Sunderland job a few weeks ago. Him and a couple of others (talksport) Not sure if Mowbray got the boot our not in the end.
Moving to a coach that uses a high press, and discipline out of possesion would be quite a shift for Swansea, from how Martin had them playing.
I think he could do a job at Leeds. Looks like Gerrard is favourite for that though. Maybe give him a go at Celtic.
Just seen Mowbray under threat at Sunderland. What on earth are they thinking about? He's done a top job.
Underated!! Some of the dross he served up prior to lockdown was down there with the p.e teacher last year.
He kept a very poor / inexperienced (by championship standards) up. That squad at that time could have easily gone down with 30 points. They didn’t, and he deserves credit for it.
If he'd have gone with Walton and Styles a lot sooner. I think we would have survived sooner. He persevered with Radlinger (should have been dropped after Chalton away and poor performances prior) and Ritzmair for some daft reason, as it was clear they were both not up to the task for weeks if not months b4. He's not the worst by a country mile. But I wouldnt want him back tbh.
Oh I agree he got plenty wrong. But the great escape run in was absolutely epic. Even if I did have to watch it on my bleeding laptop!! I don’t want him back. I want Duff to stay forever.
I was in a park/bar in salou during that Brentford game catching it on bbc sport on mi phone. The people we were surrounded by. thought I'd gone mental when we scored.
I quite liked Struber but it was crackers how he stood by Radlinger as long as he did. He's up there with the worst keepers we've ever had. Barely ever saw him make a save. He was absolutely useless that day at Charlton.......
Any normal year and we would have been gone long before the last game. The pandemic extended season and the Wigan fiasco combined to enable us to save ourselves at Brentford I will however give Struber credit for bringing in Micheal Sollbauer, he was a gem.
Luckiest manager in history. Only signed and played his mates and was taking us down with appalling squad selection and tactics until COVID happened and he benefited massively from it
He deserves credit and has a special place in our history, but it was an extraordinary season and other things went in our favour. Personally think under normal conditions he’d be bang average.
