Many wanting Schopp sacked, while in Cardiff many wanting Mick sacked. If Schopp is sacked and Mcarthey gets sacked there will be a clamour to get Mick back here.Surely 2 wrongs don't make a right as 2 failures don't make a winner.
He was a bit more warm to the idea in the Live from Redfearn’s Bar interview. No chance under these owners, but wouldn’t say zero chance under any circumstances.
I honestly don't think he'd want to tarnish his legacy here, but I suppose you should never say never.
He’s made that comment many a time, and said it in the interview we did, but he also said something like you’ve got to have guarantees and good players. Then pointed at us selling Kiefer Moore as an example of making the job impossible and not worth doing. Said he’d spoken to the club a few times but nothing came of it.
Not just our club that made the mistake of selling Keiffer, Mick’s guilty of that charge as well. Seriously though we all know that BFC sign up and coming (cheap?) managers and there much to be said for the model.
Hardly the same comparison is it? He sold a player for £750k who wasn’t in the first team squad. We sold him after he played a starring role in getting us promoted. I think that was his point. We’ll never see Mick in charge at Oakwell. Shame really as I don’t think it would have tarnished his reputation if it hasn’t come off.
Ok Mick’s guilty of not realising how good he was and selling him. Stendel sold him even though he realised he was good.
Just because they’ve failed at their current clubs, doesn’t mean they’ll fail at their next. Schopp has done well at his previous club, but just isn’t the right man for the job at Barnsley. His style doesn’t fit. I’m not sure McCarthy is either, but he’d organise the team and give them some much needed guidance, so would offer some improvement.
I think stendel would have kept him if he had the choice same as I think he would have kept potts, pinnock and lindsay. Or maybe he said there's less than a week of the transfer window left lets sell last seasons top scorer I've seen this young kid in Austria who I like called schmidt.
The greengrocer approached Mick at least three times during his tenure. Turned them all down - "too much to lose".
I know he did. Was comparing it to Ipswich selling him though and his position in their squad at the time vs. ours.
Somehow people still think that our head coach makes all the calls regarding transfers. Despite all evidence to the contrary.
Potentially. But some players need to drop down a level or two and play some first team games to really develop. Based on where Moore was in his career when he was at Ipswich he could have been thrown a few games, not performed, and ended up dropping down the divisions like George Waring. That's why a backwards step when you're young isn't always a bad thing and why confidence is so important in football.
