Despite my previous criticism of the team selection and formation, that is the first time this season I've seen us fully committed. It was like watching Barnsley again. Even if we'd lost it was like watching Barnsley again. We've given all we've got, and that's all we ask for. And on this occasion it produced a deserved a victory.
Brilliant tonight , thought we were nervous at times but as you say very encouraging performance and commuted to the cause . I don’t think IMO it was the first this season as I thought the Coventry performance was a great performance In regards commitment but that’s the first since .
Nerve-wracking viewing at the end of the game and, on balance, the small minor tweaks made by Laumann were enough to make the difference in a game of fine margins. The players were playing in their best positions, and appeared to be aware of what was being asked of them. They were being coached from the technical area during the game. They didn't capitulate after conceding and, instead, worked their way back into a winning position from behind. Something we did regularly under Ismael. There's a danger that winning a game will lead to everyone overstating how good a performance it was, when there's still so much to work on. However, breaking the losing streak and getting 3 points against the team directly below us is the only thing that matters from this evening, and the team and coach deserve credit for digging deep to get there. A good few days prep now, with a bit of confidence restored to the players, and there's a great chance we can get the same outcome from Hull on Saturday.
Hopefully this will give them confidence, to win after going a goal down would have felt like an impossibility a match ago!
