"Lee and Moncur, they're quite temperamental players, and don't always show what they can do. Moncur reminds me a lot of Taarabt, if you remember him, he can do it all and is really really talented, but he needs to be the star and he needs to have everything revolving around him. Unfortunately sometimes he seems a bit distracted and it really shows. He is probably more of a central attacking midfielder, or a false 9 type player, he wants to be among the goals and that's probably what drives him on, he wants to score. He really needs to work on looking up and making the right decision. Often he would run through the opposition, beating 5 players, but then decide to do totally the wrong thing. If he can fix that, he will be brilliant. Elliot Lee is an interesting one too. When he first came to us, he was awful, but on his return he became a totally different player. His fitness levels are awful, and if you don't give him the ball, he will be invisible, but once he gets it, he can beat anyone. He has very sharp acceleration and good dribbling, long shooting is very good too. One of those players that you can bring on with 15 minutes to go and he can come up with something amazing. Both of them aren't finished products, they need a lot of work, but still good acquisitions!"
Both have a very simple choice at Barnsley. Put in the hard yards, do the right things, put the team first. Or someone else will. Im sure they'll choose the right path.
From the bench they both will now know what standed is demanded Connor and Scowen understand and trust each other to do their jobs..
"His fitness levels are awful" you don't say maybe that's why he never starts. And I'm sorry but unless your Colchester mate is the coach I don't know if I can take from this guy.
going along the lines of connor possibly leaving or if theres another unfortunate injury in midfield, i think thats the only reason why moncur should get a starting place at the moment. hes going to have to be patient but i bet he didnt imagine this when he signed.
He's stepped up from a team now in L2 to a team 3rd in championship. Think he'll understand the importance of patience.
he might need the patience of a saint then, when you look at how great connor and josh are at the moment!
