I've just read (and then instantly lost) an article where he says he intends to sue the government if the information leaked to the papers regarding garden centres is true. Sports direct sells sports equipment, it's average customer is young fit people. A garden centre has a much older average customer age. We appear to be purposely reopening retail outlets aimed at the elderly whilst knowing that covid-19 disproportionately kills the elderly. Absolute madness
They're also really hands on places where people pick up several items and put them back looking for the perfect plant
They could quite easily ban trying in trainers. His point is still accurate though. Covid-19 disproportionately kills the elderly and yet rather than protecting them further we are actively and deliberately opening none essential retail outlets aimed specifically at them.
Nope, dont think he has a point tbh. Garden centres are spread out more. He cares not one iota for his staff so I doubt he will be observing safety precautions in his stores.
It also disproportionately kills fat people, the type of people visiting Sports Direct to get the next size up jog pants to laze about on the settee in while looking "sporty".
Neither should be open. First B&Q gets a free pass, now garden centres. Yet golf courses for instance remain closed despite being in an infinitely better position to manage risk. It's all a bit odd.
I think he does have a point. But he has probably only arrived at the point because he's pissed off that they can open and he can't - rather than actually caring about those affected by Covid.
Well older people tend to vote, and tick Conservative on their ballot paper. But it's a bit early to be offering election sweeteners.
I've got no doubt that you're right about that. It is solely in his self interest and not out of a feeling of right or wrong.
I'm not sure, because I've never tried to visit one, but do local garden centres tend to also have online stores? Sports Direct customers could, in theory, do all their shopping from his store online if they're unable to try on trainers/clothes anyway. Not saying either one should be open or either should be closed, just wondering if most garden centres have a good online presence.
Clitoria ternatea, commonly known as Asian pigeonwings,[1] bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, cordofan pea and Darwin pea,[2] is a plant species belonging to the family Fabaceae. In India, it is revered as a holy flower, used in daily puja rituals. The flowers of this vine were imagined to have the shape of human female bits, hence the Latin name for female bits (had to edit this as it had adult links in it)
