Another podcast recommendation. It’s basically three old guys - sometimes with guests - talking about the football they grew up with as well as their views - and mainly frustrations - on the current game. It’s a total joy to listen to, and on par with listening to your Dad talking to his mates in the pub about how good the game was when “they were a lad”. Thankfully, it’s banter free with grounded opinion into the game most of us grew up watching and falling in love with. There are over 80 episodes to indulge in and all are nostalgic with a focus on different aspects of the game. If you want to dip in, then the episodes on Brian Clough (with Martin O'Neill) and Bill Shankly are a delight and, surprisingly, the episode on Chelsea is a good listen with guest Andy Hamilton. It’s a couple of years old but still worth a listen. It only came into my consciousness due to the sad passing of the journalist Patrick Barclay (Dundee & Fulham fan), who is one of the key contributors. The others are author Colin Shindler (Manchester City) and football agent Jon Homes (Leicester City).
Seconded! Paddy Barclay is irreplaceable but hopefully it will be back with another similarly insightful contributor.
