A scrappy game played on a difficult surface. Barnsley were much better in the first half and didn't deserve to go in behind at half time. Swansea's main threat was the long throw and unfortunately they scored from one. The second goal, offside and a result of our own messing around at the back, killed the game. Barnsley definitely deserved something from the game but Swansea are strong and give very little away. Hey ho, move on to Watford and hope we get the breaks. Ref was poor too btw. How Andersen gets booked and Naughton doesn't is baffling...
I agree. I thought there was very little in it. Barnsley still look to have a lack of nous up front (maybe Morris will ultimately help) and Swansea had the rub of the green. Not a pretty game either imo. Perhaps a draw would have been fair but then again if you don't take chances do you really deserve a draw?
Reminded me very much of the Bournemouth and Brentford game. Pressed well but lacked in final thiRd. Their second goal was a joke or " simply stupid" as Valarian Ismael put it,killed us off .
Thought we'd lost at one goal down tbh. The pressing stopped and Swansea really dictated that 2nd half.
That had me shouting at the telly. Naughton's was a deliberate block - "professional" foul (taking one for the team - but he didn't get one) where Anderson's was an honest if mistimed attempt to get the ball.
We seem to be man handling players and pushing them for no obvious reason which is only resulting in us giving away silly free kicks. Some teams are all about positioning up field and then trying to draw the foul legally or illegally for the set piece Ayew and Lowe were at it all game.
