Lower than we all thought it would have to be. Only the two going up automatically got over 90 points.
I think in the final weeks nerves kicked in for all the top four so full credit to our boys for dealing with them the best. Then yesterday I reckon the foot came off the gas as there was little to play for. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed we didn't win yesterday. In the end it didn't matter much as Luton did win but there was still a title on the line and we didn't seem to be at it.
We was winning 1 nil got a player sent off had to play 46 minutes with 10 men and Bristol finally scored their winner in 90 plus 2,but we were not at it ,anyone think we was done 5 nil
I thought considering it didn't matter the effort the lads put in after going down to 10 was brilliant.
I agree with the majority of points made. I wasn't at the game, so I shouldn't probably comment, but I have watched the brief highlights that Sky put out and I will look at the segment on Quest later today, due to the fact that my celebrations went a wee bit over the top last night and I had to go to kip before I could watch it back late last night. I've just woken up to use " the throttling pit", and my mouth is as dry as a limeburners clog and my head is banging like a bog door in a gale, but it was worth it. For me, our lads were still "on the beach" from Tuesday's hectic celebrations and who could blame them.? For one, being totally honest, deep down before the season started, I never thought in my wildest dreams that this young squad would or could qualify for automatic promotion, but they proved to myself and others, that they could. Yesterday, we looked a bit disjointed, especially at the back, with the result that Bristol Rovers got men wide and capitalised on the space afforded them on the flanks, which invariably led to them managing to get some dangerous crosses into our box. Losing Liam Lindsay didn't help us either, but the boys seemed to cope with everything being thrown at them and contrary to what has appeared in the papers, could possibly have got a draw, but sadly, they got the winner in added on time. It's been one of the most pleasurable seasons I've ever seen at Oakwell. Unbeaten on home turf all season, ninety one points and a goal difference of + 41. They say, you shouldn't wish your life away, by I cant honestly wait for next season to start now. We will soon be aware of the Boards intentions for next term, when we see the quality of any new signings. For me, that process needs to start asap, so Daniel has a chance to get them settled in and they can become familiar with how we play as a unit. I truly believe that if they can hold on to the best players we have at the Club now and add some proven quality, Barnsley FC could be on the threshold of one of the most successful periods in its long and illustrious history.
