We're starting a new project up at Shaw Lane for older people to come and potter around the site. We're erecting the new sensory garden, so there will be plenty of opportunities for gardening, and DIY, access to the allotment etc. All equipment will be provided. Very informal - we already have a number of people signed up.
    Message me if you're interested.

Anyone responsible adult who has time on their hands is welcome. The project is funded by Reds in the Community and I believe their target group is 50+, but we are not going to turn away volunteers who genuinely want to be involved.

You can't be doing that. According to the Bank of England this morning, these people are responsible for inflation and need to get back to work...!

But seriously, good luck with the initiative.

Yeah, strange because not too long ago David Cameron was flagging it up as the way forward - The Big Society - using volunteers to do all the work they had cut funding for!
