Is this still a thing, no obvious communication since December? https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/5e8a62c0-da6e-11ef-afb5-71ee6c78fa0b.pdf
Forever Absent Bureau Federation of Administrative Bystanders Forgetting About Barnsley Full of Air and Bluster Faking Action for Barnsley Freeloading And Biscuits Fans Acting Busy Free Ale and Beer Dedicated to the noble art of observation without interference. At FAB, we believe that sometimes the best action is inaction, especially when there’s football on the telly and biscuits in the tin. We proudly maintain a strong presence in meetings while ensuring no actual decisions are made.
There still compiling the minutes from the January transfer window discussion. They will likely be combined with the minutes from the summer transfer window fiasco
Yet another example of the club committing to something and then not doing it adequately. Yet they wonder why club/supporter relations have never been so low.
The FAB group imo fekked up with the February meeting. (I doubt anything will come out of it, that most folk didnt know already) It should NOT have brought the January window into the equation. (It is NOT in the remit. Each have their own individual allocated slot within the fan base etc to represent). And doing the utmost Inviting questions from the fans does nothing other. imo, than cause themselves grief. It is not a q&a over the footballing side. But FAN experiences and issues. Financial inputs I don't like the fact minutes are taking so long. (The minutes should be ready at the next meeting from the previous one. Approved by both parties and edited if need be. B4 releasing to the whole fanbase) But I'm guessing neither are the FAB. All actions will not be acted on. In that time frame. Eg planning. But stated as carried forward in effect. The club could lose interest from within the group if it doesn't change. Some of the comments they get apparantly on social media etc, are totally unjustified. I do believe the supporters trust are looking to be more involved. But tbh the fanbase shows very little interest. When I've attended a couple of meetings in the past, the attendance has been extremely poor. Nay on single figures other than the organisers. Maybe that needs reigniting. Can't turn the clock back only move forward. Never know, unless you try. The FSA encourages all clubs to engage and create FAB's. But fans need to realise their agenda. And that is in the main to try. (Advise the club) to make life better for the fans. Be it Catering. Facilities for the disabled and inclusion for minority groups etc. These were included in the supporters trusts agendas at one time. But not given the attention that they should be by the clubs. It needs/needed more structure. The 2 can run alongside one another, so long as it isn't a power struggle so to speak. There are a couple or so in both, that can liase between the 2 groups. The best interest of the fans is paramount. But with the caveat it helps. (doesn't create divide), with the club also. Not everything will be agreed. Such is life. Like opinions. There was talk of re-starting meetings with the Fan engagement group. Imo that group would be an asset to the Supporters trust. Also help build up numbers. Too many cooks so to speak.
