Funnily enough I'm wearing my commemorative T-shirt of that match today for the first time in years. Spooky!

I went to the first match which was brilliant, but was in London on business for the replay so I could not go.

    Me mam used my ticket.

I was at both. Only time I have ever seen us play at Old Trafford and the only other time I have been there was to see Man Utd play Sheff Utd when George Best scored "that" goal (the one that is shown every time his name is mentioned on TV).

Our game there was surreal. How we got away with a draw is still a mystery although, as we all know, Andy Liddell was felled in the area towards the end which would have given us a match winning opportunity. Trouble is we had an incompetent referee who ignored the assault. Nothing changes.

I was behind the goal for that one, and on the Ponty end for the replay. Both games highly charged, full of emotion but we got the right result in the end. I doubt Fergie could believe his eyes. Losing to the likes of Barnsley. Shocking!!

I went to both too and I was convinced it was a penalty at the time (even without my red tinted glasses on) and that the referee (was it Riley) had bottled it and gone with the easy option. As I recall even Fergie said it was a blatant penalty.

Still we got the result in the replay and what an atmosphere it was at the game.

And yet in the replay, Jovo Bosancic was booked for the very slightest of touches on David Beckham. I cannot emphasise enough how slight the touch was. I uploaded my self ammended highlights to youtube a few years ago and I think I included it in it.

Typical case of the underdogs never getting the decisions and always going with the big clubs, most blatant penalty never given I`ve seen.
