It seems that the sale of Brad Potts has raised the question in the minds of many respected fans as to who we are in the greater scheme of things. Who and what we are as a club is very much dependent on the point of view of the observer.
I've heard a couple of extreme views over the past few days which sets out the range.
    1) Yorkshire Wildcats, super stadium on the M1 playing for and winning European Championships.
    2) Cash cow feeder club generating young players to be sold for a profit with lucrative sell on clauses. Winning nothing and bouncing between championship and division 1. No ambition for its own sake.
The sale of Brad Potts is an indication of neither and it's questionable whether the 1.5, or 2 million will balance the books at the end of the day.
The fact is that neither scenario will work unless the owners want to compete with Russian Oligarchs and Arabian princes for the former and I see no indication from them that they see the future in that light, or that they can make a sufficient profit from the sale of Division 1 players to low lying championship clubs to make the latter work.
The plan surely is to establish a club that makes profit from television revenues and sells premiership players to premiership clubs. A sort of Burnley with a more effective academy. This will take investment to get us there and Daniel Stendel and Ganaye are part of that investment. They must be allowed to make the judgement about when we invest and when we divest and teamwork and understanding is part of the plan.
So what is the supporters role in this? We are spectators to this activity and as one fan said yesterday we have the choice whether we see this plan as ambition, or otherwise.
Personally I think that the plans for the future of this club are ambitious, because they involve the transformation of a small town football club with a proud, but in comparison to some other clubs of a similar age, mediocre history and make it into a force in the game.
I'm behind the club and the sale of Brad Potts doesn't dissuade me.

I think if Grace Hung turned up again for a few days the BBS would become a far nicer place for a week or so and Brad Potts would be a distant memory.

That all sounds very plausible and hopefully will be true. However, surely the fans deserve to know what that overall ambition is? It would stop all the speculation and general gnashing of teeth. Let us know the long term ambitions, explain why you've bought the club and we'll all get behind the plan...

Agreed. Wonder if Ganaye and the rest of them read this site.
