Embarrassing is that for a Championship club. It’s only the size of a large tv to start with and now it doesn’t work. The owners obviously don’t want to spend a penny on the ground.
Did anything go fluently well today in running the game from the club to benefit everyone. I struggle to understand that we run an event not much different to the past x years and we get so much wrong. i heard a whisper the ref didn't turn up so they let our club game day event manager ref the game. Needless to say he had a bad day all round ;-)
I appreciate that things can go wrong but it's almost like the club were unaware that we had a game on Saturday and were only told about it on Thursday. And another thing..... where was all the sand on the pitch ? All I saw was green. Unless of course the sand had been painted green to fool us. Actually the pitch looked fantastic.
would the score board/turnstiles belong to the owners of the ground that is currently under legal dispute so not come under the remit of "the owners" ?
You expect them to spend there money on the ground while still been owed payment's for selling the club?
I expect the people who own the ground to look after the ground that they own. I don't expect people who don't own the ground to pay towards the ground.
but wasnt it a 3rd party thats put the spoke in and stopped the "sale" between the crynes and chein lee ?
I’ve said before - if the ‘club’ buy the ground, they are just buying a whole lot of liability. There’s little extra return from it financially or football wise, without further significant investment. That’s why it’s not a simple purchase.
Say if I sold a bussiness to someone but I still owned the premises they ran the business from I wouldnt be going out of my way to update the premises if they hadn't payed installments for the business.
I thought all this issue over payments/ ground ownership was due in court back in January? So what happened?
For anyone who first time coming to Oakwell I felt disgusted by the state of the seating in the lower West Stand as they were covered in dust and what I can describe as ash at the back. Surely they have had the time to clean them in the last few mon the. Plus at the end of the rows near the managers dugout there are no letters to show which row they are so lots of people spent ti.e trying to find their seats. A small thing but important to new supporters. Looks like the lower West Stand has had no or little maintainance in the past 18+ months.
If you lease a shop you decorate and do the fixtures and fittings yourself. The scoreboard , pitch etc all come under fixtures and fittings surely?
Dear God Please don’t let the Council sell their proportion of the ground to these owners. Thank you. Dalestyke.
I sat in the lower west stand & my seat was perfect, they have improved the turnstiles , & getting in was a lot easier , I really enjoyed my afternoon in the west stand with no complaints & considering that the doomongers were spreading the rumour last week that on arrival we would find it shut then let me assure you it was open & business as usual, the only downside was that we have the eyesore of the east stand to look at ,but instead of moaning about that I decided I would watch the match instead & found it very enjoyable .
