German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius on Monday has called the agreement on a permanent deployment of a German brigade in Lithuania a “historic moment,” adding it is the first time that Germany permanently stations troops outside its borders.
It's the first time they've had permission from the host country, rather than turning up in a few hundred panzers after the Luftwaffe have dropped a few tons of tnt to smooth their way..
They just went on their holidays last time. In France, Belgium, Holland, Poland….. They liked it so much they stayed on a bit.
