http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37493794 So had it been genuine bent agents rather than Journalists posing as such he would have behaved differently? Pretty sure if the Torygraph had tried the same sting on Hodgeson it wouldnt have worked, in fact they may well have done - no news story in it if he wouldnt give them the time of day Its not as if he hasnt been rumbled before - quite why he entertained going down that path when he was on £3milion a year is beyond me
Not really got much against Big Sam, never really minded any of his teams even though his style of play at most of them was dire and he seems alright and like he's got a sense of humour but this is just silly, he's done something morally wrong and now he's claiming it's other peoples fault because they gave him the opportunity to act like a muppet
His only problem is he got caught. In a game that is flush with stupid amounts of money there will be backhanders and favours flying around everywhere. I wonder who will be next to be outed...one of those managers who pay stupid money for african players no ****er has or will ever see play or someone in the FA... All pigs in the trough together.
Wonder if we have any ex managers that always seem to sign players from the same agent... Would be a bit dodgy....
Just amazes me how he got the England job as he's been busted before. No doubt Redknapp will replace him (another Del Boy).
He was cleared of all allegations last time. This time he's been caught out red handed and can have no complaints. Within weeks of getting his dream job on £3m a year plus bonuses he's caught up to his neck in corruption with money and vanity being the only motivators. It stinks and it is rife in football. I'm completely finished with top flight and international football.
Allardyce has been an absolute arse but can someone explain to me , why would the Telegraph try such an outlandish snare. Just to sell a few extra papers really ? What if it had all fallen through and Allardyce had told them all to do one , we wouldn't have heard a murmur from the papers . They're as bad ad him in my book .
I'd imagine all the press hacks know who the dodgy managers are and the Telegraph decided to a) do a clean up job or b) cash in on an easy target depending on how cynical you are. Either way they guy's a complete idiot and has compounded his idiocy for moaning about entrapment.
McClaren, Rodgers, etc all slating the reporters stating they and not Allerdyce were in the wrong and how sorry they feel for him. All the big guns grabbing any media outlet they can grab to hail him as a saint.mmmm. maybe an investigation into a few of these is in order.villains looking out for theit own?. Just like the MPs expenses scandal .
he'd let his mouth say owt, entrapment only works if the 'victim' has something to hide. He was exposed as greedy and indiscreet and unprofessional amongst other things. The more you look at it if they had a FIFAesque purge on the FA and Premiere league you start to think there would hardly be any fkr left!
This was part of a 10 month undercover investigation by the Telegraph. They haven't set out to catch Allardyce, he's just offered it up on a plate. Another eight names (ex or current Premier League Managers) set to be unveiled this week. Although I imagine the FA will be working round the clock to keep the announcement under wraps.
I was thinking earlier that Flitcroft seemed the perfect candidate to be named. I'm certain he's dodgy, the only question for me is whether he's a big enough name for the Telegraph to bother investigating
He was trapped by his own greed. If he had said no there wouldn't be a story. He only has himself to blame.
Allardyce hasn't really done anything wrong. He said he'd have to clear the job with the FA before he took it, and he immediately shot down any talk of bungs. His only mistake was discussing how to get around third party ownership rules - hardly something to crucify him about.
I agree, it's not the most serious of crimes but it is completely unacceptable for somebody holding the position of England manager.
