Does anyone know how you'd go about switching the direction of a pole?

So imagine a pole pretty much the thickness of a sweeping brush handle and stick a paddle onto each end. I want one end to rotate clockwise and one end to rotate anti clockwise. Obviously you'd have to have the pole cut in half at some point but how would you go about making it work? I assume it involves some kind of gearbox

And more importantly is it something you can buy off the shelf?

Ps I mean a manual one not electronic or anything. If I manually turn the paddle on one end I want the other end to turn the other way

A simple gearbox of 2 equal sized gears reverses direction of rotation and keeps the speed constant.

but from a design perspective it makes more sense to do the change of direction at either the power end or the driven end to make it simpler to keep the axle stable.

What? You think a device that rotates one end of a pole clockwise and the other end anticlockwise could be used for that?

I think you've been giving yours a chinese burn by mistake.
