I'm off at 7am although from a bit further south. Brekkie and a pint once in London then hopefully 3 points and a few more pints after. Buzzing for it
day out for me, my eldest gets on train mid-way who i've not seen for yonks, just gotta put up with youngest yapping from start cost me same as a weeks holiday in magaluf but **** it, an away day ;-)
Have a great day out, genuinely. It's nice to read. I hope the lads give you a result to make the day even better. It's been 18 months of ****, glad folk are going about their lives.
True Story. During the promotion season I lived near Reading and it's about 35 miles to QPR - 30 miles of which is the M4 Motorway. I set off at 1 pm for the league game in January '97 - plenty of time to drive the 35 miles. Got lost round West London couldn't find the ground, asked at a newsagent for the QPR ground and they gave us directions..... half an hour later realised they had been sending us to Twickenham.... turned round and eventually found where the ground was. Please note this was all before sat navs and mobile phones lol Nowhere to park... it's 5 to 3.... what to do.... sees an infant school sign on gate "No football parking. Cars will be towed away" **** this for a game of soldiers... School car park we go and legs it to the ground. I mean what's the worst that could happen lol. Sees us lose 1-3, then couldn't find the car.... in our haste hadn't looked what street it was on lol... took us half an hour to find the car... all safe and well in the school car park
See you all down there. Enjoy everyone. Hopefully after last seasons result things are changing at this place. But we can only hope.
Tbh I'm expecting everything to go back to normal, spawny goal or two from them (probably Austin despite the fact he should be taking a retrospective ban for midweek actions), that terrible pigbag song, cramped legroom even for a shortarse like me, seeing us lose for the 4th time out of 4 trips. Don't care. I'm just delighted to be back
*****, tickets just fallen through. Online it seems impossible to buy a ticket in the Barnsley end, only possible through QPR's site. Anyone know a way around this?
great day out, disappointed not to hang on for the 3pts but had a laugh, saw my eldest for 1st time in over a year, spent a fortune but worth every penny on about directions to the ground, ended up in a hammersmith pub, noticed other yorks accents and thought we'd just follow them, didn't realise hull were also in town!
I once asked a Police Officer the directions to the Stockport ground , think it was a Boxing Day away game , he looked puzzled , just turned and pointed “ You are outside it , Sir” he said
That happened to me and my mate about 30 years ago outside the Featherstone Rovers Rugby ground Mate driving, I ask this woman on side of road where the Rugby ground was...... Stunned, she just pointed across the road lol
