We might well go on to lose this, but given it's level, and despite his howlers, Davies has kept us in it with a string of fine saves. Can we rightly assume you'll be along later to give praise where it's due? Or will it be more puerile, ill-informed insults?

I’d half understand it in the heat of the moment if you later retracted and regretted it. He hasn’t - even saying it wasn’t out of order. His response when challenged with it being a disgraceful comment was ‘no it’s not’. Pathetic
And as for ‘howlers’ - the first goal is headed in the six yard box yes but it hasn’t come across him, it’s headed into the area flat and wide. I don’t think it’s so certain he could have got there, it wasn’t his to win. The second? He should have cleared out the ball, Mackie and even Lindsay if needs be. But Lindsay was just as culpable, he was goal side of mackie, just get ******* rid. Given the number of saves he’s made, and not all routine as some suggest, I’m not so sure last night’s performance from Davies was as bad as some like to make out. Folk want to be careful what they wish for. I don’t think many clubs would be upset to have him in their goal in this division, there’s a few worse in the championship too. Neither of Wigan’s keepers are great, Ipswich have played two and I’d take neither over Davies; the Slovak lad at Rotherham looks ropey, and when he’s fit Ben Alnwick plays every week for Bolton. More importantly though, who is better in league one or even two? Which goalkeeper have you seen who is more commanding in the air and makes the saves Davies does? He’s not brilliant otherwise he’d be playing at a higher level but there’s teams in higher divisions he’d get a game for, and very few, if any, teams he wouldn’t walk into in this league.

Two different statements there. He's as good as any one as a shot stopper but his command of his area is abysmal. I'd say most of the goalkeepers I've seen this season have been more commanding. The goalmouth scramble against Rochdale was a result of him dropping the ball at a corner. I know I'll get quotes about clean sheets but that's just as much due to our excellent defence.
