My 11 year old son has been scouted for Sheffield United summer development, now I'm really proud his dedication and practice is paying off but also have mixed feeling about him potentially getting into there acadamy

Id drive my son to any ground in country of he had the chance to earn 1000's of pounds a week for kicking a ball about.. better than working for a living.

Don’t be daft. Get his mam to take him. When we’re playing. ;)

No mixed feelings to be had imo .
Your supporting your lad and his future choose who gives him a chance .
Grasp it with both hands and be ready to support him whichever way his career goes.

If and when he strides out at Bramall Lane in six or seven years you’ll probably have a striped shirt on!

Absolutely no mixed feelings to be had. I’ve an 11 year old, he’s an egg chaser rather than footballer but I’d take him anywhere in the country for such an opportunity.

Embrace it, support him and hope he blows them away.

I know I'm really proud of him and he made over I would support him whatever the team he played for its a selfish thing in me and I'm sure everyone dreams that there kid could play for the team they support

There’s a 16 year old lad on scholarship here from Fev who him and his dad are massive Leeds fans. He’ll probably make it with us and I reckon our next John Stones (not just my Fev bias :) ). Been here since 8 year old. Imagine if his dad had said he ain’t playing for them lol

I'm with everyone else, nothing to be conflicted about. Congratulations to you and your lad and I hope he impresses
