https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domingos_Quina playing for Pafos I love Pafos and visit it every year but a footballing hotbed it is not! Looked quality for us at times, crazy how his career has gone really. Surely he’s better than that.
Just had a look at the club and says they were taken over in 2014 and in European competition in 2024-25. Small capacity (under 10k) but I’m guessing he’s getting a decent wedge… which sadly for many players nowadays is their measure of success. Coin.
You’re probably right mate , nice lifestyle too… average attendance about 5k I think - fairly depressing as I thought he is / was championship quality.
I went this year, noticed the stadium. I checked their fixtures when I first got there, if I'd gone a week later I could have watched them play Leyton Orient.
I’ve got to be honest, I’ve just about expunged that season from my mind after copious lashings of mind bleach. I just about remember the name but I can’t recall a huge amount about him.
They’re doing really well at the minute. They’ve won two champions league qualifying rounds & now play Red Star Belgrade over two legs to get a spot in the tournament. It’d be pretty cool if they do get through & have a game against at least one of the 6 English sides
I was there in July pal and my son saw that they were playing Leyton Orient. Sadly it was played in Marbella not Pafos. Also David Luiz plays for them too Ps Try Mikey’s Bar if you are near the harbour. He’s a Barnsley lad t’old Mikey.
good to know ! I’ve watched us play quite a few times over the years. I’ll head to Mikey’s bar next time it happens!
Talented lad. Thought that’s all that was required, sadly. Complete opposite of Bassi who was here at the same time. That kid was one of the most gifted midfielders I’ve seen, and despite his size, he grafted hard also, and was just an unbelievably nice fella.
We walked to the harbour every morning and had a drink in a bar there. Not Mikey's though, although I do remember seeing it. Shame I didn't know.
