Can't see there been many tonight. Micky mouse cup that were already out of and is it 10 quid a ticket. Hard-core fans only.
The Donny fans could scupper that record bid. Dunno how many they are fetching, but it wouldn’t take many to outnumber us. I’m not going to any more games where they just open the bottom tier of the ESL
Reckon our first ever sub thousand crowd could be on the cards and/or Donny outnumbering home support.
You underestimate the amount of folk who will go and support the team regardless. I’ll guess around 2,500. It’s a nonsense competition these days, but I’ll watch it on the box as I’m sure we’ll get to see a few of the youngsters like Fab, Vimal and co. Maybe Benson will get some minutes too? Kelechi?
If I were local I’d be there, whatever the competition. But I’m not, so I won’t. Sky sports+ for me. Really REALLY hope we don’t embarrass ourselves against that lot, especially if they bring a decent following.
I reckon it's been a nonsense competition ever since it's introduction. Probably brings in more losses than profits for the clubs involved.
After checking the records there were 3 home games with less than 2000 spectators at the end of the 1965/66 season: 29 April At the end of 1965/66 season the last 3 homes games had less than 2000 people watching. 29 April v Newport County 2-2 att. 1697 10 May v Wrexham 3-0 win att. 1577 13 May v Southport 4-0 win att. 1915 We finished 16th on 40 points (2 points for a win). We were 3 points outside the bottom 4 who had to apply for re-election in those days. I was present for the Southport game which was on a Friday evening.
