Does any other club see us as their main rival?

Talking to my son today about Leeds v Man Utd and how it is a massive one way rivalry.

Got me thinking are we anyone's main rival? Clearly most clubs we see as rivals (Blades, Owls, Leeds, Hudds) have bigger fish to fry on that front. Rotherham or Donny? Or does no-one really care that much about us as a rival? I know we seem to be living rent fre in Wigan supporters heads at the moment but that's a short term thing......

Think Donny have a thing for Rotherham. Leeds crush on Man U is like ours on Wendies.
So no everyone thinks we're meh.

I can't imagine anyone even sees us as a minor rival.

 

Blades and Wednesday is obviously the big rival to both
Leeds class man United as theirs but most united fans couldnt care less and class liverpool,city etc as their big one
Huddersfield fans class leeds and Bradford as there main rivals
And donny and rotherham have a mutual rivalry

We class Wednesday as our main rival and they love to beat us but united will always be the big game for them.

 

Donny do really hate us. We couldn’t care less about them though but I know they have a real hate towards us.

 

Not one I reckon, a rivalry could be a team anywhere in the country if you are fighting for either promotion or relegation and they also in contention, as far as other teams view they probably just see us as a local derby, nothing else, Celtic/ Rangers, steel City derby, Tyne, Wear derby, Arsenal/ Spurs i would 100% class them as rivals based on many things but mainly the hatred they have for each other, many of us see Wednesday as a rival but its only predominantly one way ( us) many of them just see it as a derby and look at utd as rivals irrespective of league

 

Do they? I've worked with a few Donny fans over the years and they never mention us at all. Like, ever...

 

Well I've worked in Donny a couple of times and never got that impression. In fact when they played at Belle vue they loved playing us cos they beat us every time.. Home and away

 

If you have a look around twitter, Wednesday fans talk about us more than they do United.

 

Always used have a thread about us on there forum and used to love getting one over on us sadly havent played them for a few seasons and probably wont next season.

 

Yeah, but this is the thing with forums, users always assume that's the general consensus amongst the fan base, but it invariably isn't.

Donny couldn't give two sh its about us.

We're a really beige club that no one cares one way or the other about.

Edit: in fact it's embarrassing that we're even having this conversation, "do Donny care about us?". Jesus, how far we've fallen....

There isn’t a local Sunday league team that would see us as a serious rival at the moment!

Like I’ve said, I know for a fact that they hate/hated us, when I asked my Donny supporting former work colleagues they told me it wasn’t just them and even sang ‘ anti- Dingle’ songs. I didn’t find it embarrassing at all, if anything a little complimentary at times which I often remarked to them about. I used to post and read the ‘Viking Forum at one point and I can tell you their was genuine hatred towards us.

 

Maybe I've just worked with 15+ of the nicest Donny fans then? Weird eh?
