There was a moment in the second half where he shoulder charged one of their players. He went flying. Ref obviously gave a free kick...
I am surprised the referee didn’t award a penalty for that given he was looking directly at it and he had such a consistent game
He had strict Rules of Engagement to follow. He signed up to them in the Brentford manager's office before kick off. Rule one was never, under any circumstances, blow your whistle when any Barnsley player is kicked, pulled, tripped or any other physical contact when said incident happens in the Brentford penalty box. He was paid well for signing up to this. There were many other clauses, obviously, including never penalise Ivan Toney for anything he does throughout the match. He must have forgotten that bit because I'm pretty sure that he awarded at least one foul against him. Obviously an error of judgement.
Think the ref thought it was obviously DD's fault, being such a big strapping bloke and obviously so damned attractive from the back their bloke would have been able to control his emotions and not try to jump him there and then!
Some of the free kicks being given against our forwards are ridiculous. Surprised VI hasn't asked a ref in to ask what the forwards are actually allowed to do.
