I don't know because I wasn't there, but interested to hear from those who were.

Also (and probably related to that question) did Gardner put up a better showing?

My brother went. He said we were absolutely appalling until the 70th minute and then played well for 15 minutes. Gardner was almost non existent apparently.

Gardner anonymous. We worked incredibly hard but have very little quality. We had a couple of chances from 70 mins onwards and could have nicked it.

I have serious concerns over fitness levels of a couple.

Gardener looks like someone trying to not get injured. Drifted around midfield without getting hold of his man or the ball really.

Moncur played wide right in the second half, I think he was meant to in the first half and it needed a bollocking at half time, to be fair he didn’t do as bad as I’d thought he would.

Thiam did nothing of note, the 442 helped at times in the second half however as it gave us an out ball so In that respect he cane in handy.

The defence put a proper shift in and looked like they wanted to actually defend today. Really impressed with effort levels and attitude

    I agree with your brother.

Great to come away with a point, and also to see us be the better team for a spell when we could possibly have nicked all 3.

    But

Improving for the odd 20 minutes here and there isn't going to be good enough if we don't score when on top.

6th game without a goal in open play, and todays best shot came from a free kick.

Still a hell of a lot of improving to do.

Thought Adam Davies was faultless in everything he did. Very pleasing.

Nice little confidence builder. Stopped the rot. Very decent side are Brentford, tough nut to crack at their place. Still rueing the chance early doors where Barnes' second touch got away from him. Thiam was there waiting for the tap in.

    Said that about Moncur today.

When he gets on the ball he can make things happen. In my mind he has undoubted talent, but every mazy run is followed by him blowing heavily, hands on hips.

Yep. I appreciate that for him playing 90 mins at a reasonable intensity is out of the ordinary but twice at least his touch/pass was poor because of fitness it seemed as as you say he was blowing.

Was pleasing that the back 5 gave very little away although I remain unconvinced by McCarthy.

We have to build on a clean sheet although I’ve no idea where the goals will come from.

That's football though. Unpredictable. I didn't see a clean sheet coming today. First away from home since April apparently. I think we're in a good place where things will just get better and better. I'm excited for the future. I can only speak for myself, mind.

We need at least three players in Jan for me and not a punt amongst em...it sounds like it won’t happen though.

Well, I'm baffled how you see things as being so exciting. I've been today and ok, we've showed some fight and defended well for once. At the other end however, no goals in open play for 10 hours says it all. Glaring lack of quality in the final third, it's hard to see where the next goal is coming from.
I'm glad you're so optimistic but I just don't see why anyone would be.
Unless you know something we don't.....takeover imminent maybe?!

Because it's better to look at and to approach life with a smile. To be positive. It comes down to personal preference I suppose. And yes, I'm excited for the future. I'm like that. I enjoy thinking what 'might' be. Others will prefer to fear the worst in life, and it crosses over into football. But if you're paying all that money, if you're putting the hours in to support the club, to follow them here, there, everywhere etc, if you're on the internet and it's on your mind so often, I don't get why you'd ever approach all that with a negative mindset.

I adore my missus. I think of the times we've shared and moments still to come. I don't get down about something I love. But like I say, we're all wired up differently.

It is my opinion that the club is in a good place and whilst yes, I'd prefer us to be top of the league, I assess the context and judge things suitably. I've never, ever known us win regularly, year in, year out. We've had the occasional season of winning more than losing. Even the last promotion season saw us lose 8 on the bounce.

My job gives me the pleasure of knowing more about other clubs than I'd ever be able to, previously. And so aye, I'm excited for our future. I'm also great at club rhetoric.

    Fair enough.
Not overly upset tbh. Events in my life this year have put football in perspective. I'm not getting down about BFC at all.
I just think we're a pretty poor side and was stating that it's difficult to get excited about the remainder of this season.
It's all about opinions.....that's the way football has always been.
I'd love your optimistic to be proved right ☺
