Which is a nice thing to be able to say. Andersen proving that he's a good defender if he can cut out the mistakes when in possession. Not that I necessarily blame him for some of his mistakes this season, he was asked to do a job that isn't his game and was hung out to dry by the manager time and time again. And the manager tried his best to derail our chances in this game too. It wasn't until the 90th minute that we stopped playing goal kicks to our defenders, which had put us under pressure time and time again and we were lucky to get away with it. It's not necessarily a bad tactic, it can be a good one, but Millwall countered it perfectly and we continued to play to their advantage. I don't understand why, when it's obvious to everyone something isn't working, that you would continue to instruct the people in your team to put themselves at a disadvantage, to give the impetus to the opposition, and to dramatically increase your chances of losing. It's appalling management.

We didn't do anywhere near enough to win it. But, despite being the better team, neither did Milwall. We looked like a solid but uninspiring team. That's a hell of a lot better than looking like an uninspiring team that falls to pieces under any sort of pressure, which has been the case for much of the season. So, despite my criticism of the manager in the first paragraph, he's clearly done a lot of work during lockdown to make us a much more solid outfit. It was prevalent at QPR and again today. That deserves credit.

Agreed, we didn't create much going forward but defensively we were excellent today. If either side deserved to win it was us, because we're not Milwall.....

There's a certain aspect to our defending which never seems as solid as other teams.

That's when we become our own worst enemy by being indecisive in the six yard box. Today on a couple of occasions we nearly contrived to get it over our own line without much help from Millwall.

In other games we've not got away with it.

Anyway, I reckon our defence is the least of our problems at the moment.
