    Used Finish dishwasher tablets in his washing machine for 8 months and wondered why his clothes weren't coming out clean!

    Tbf I’ve done it on more than one occasion. Both ways too. Also put washing up tablets in the dishwasher.

    Yep! I was at work and we'd run out of detergent. It was just for general purpose cleaning cloths though - for clothes I'd probably put it off for a day and head to the shop.

    I washed my hair more than once as a nipper with Fairy Liquid, when the shampoo ran out.

    Worst for me was when the district nurse came to school and found nits in my hair.
    Sent home with a note. Got my hair washed with carbolic soap. It came in a big block and had a very distinctive smell.

    Not as bad, as Carbolic, but we often had Coal Tar soap. Also distinctive.
