Despite how arrogant they were that year we got promoted ahead of them, I'd happily see them win the league with Stendel in charge. He just comes across as a proper sound bloke.
I love Daniel so i wouldn’t want him going to that Club. They have some great fans but the Club itself is dysfunctional.
On transfer deadline day at the start of 2019, the window had closed and Sunderland had still not got the Grigg deal over the line, but you get a few hours' grace to wrap up a transfer if the paperwork had been started before the deadline (or something like that). I went to sleep hoping that they would not do so, because I felt his signing would get automatic promotion in the bag for them. I was sure we'd be relying on Luton dropping away after their manager left, otherwise it'd be play-offs for us. As it stands, the Mackems hate him, we're mid-table in the Championship, and Sunderland can't even beat the convicted criminal Joey Barton. Funny old game.
If Daniel wants a nice little earner the Mackems will sort him. Sign a 4 year contract, get the boot after 6 months.
Fed up of Sunderland fans saying Daniel got brayed by Barton. Judging by the tweets in the immediate aftermath he got taken totally by surprise. Barton would be doing time but for COVID so I hope Fleetwood lose every remaining game!
Don't really know what went on at Hearts, but our 21-word statement was a disgrace. He deserved so much better than that, and that's before you consider the factors which led to his sacking. On-field results - and his mad tactics - mean he did deserve to go, but only because there always has to be a fall-guy, and the person who takes the hit is never the one in the boardroom. He wasn't backed properly in the summer of 2019, and they got shut of both his main central defenders, as well as his keeper. Still, it looks like lessons have been learnt as far as recruitment goes. We have a smattering of experience now, and it has helped us no end. If the price of the club learning that lesson was the end of Stendel's tenure then, as a fan, I'll take that, because no individual is bigger than the club. It does make me want him to bounce back and do really well, though. I know he is capable of it.
Not sure if you're on Instagram @Redhelen? Stendel is doing an advent calendar, every day a photo of him/memories etc. I know how much you like him
Got a raw deal at Hannover by all accounts as well, despite being there on and off as a player and coach for 18 years.
